Which Path Is Right For You?
Auxiliary:
New to law enforcement? Want to make a difference in the community and volunteer your time? Apply to work in the Auxiliary Unit. Once an Auxiliary, you will have the opportunity to work with Patrol, CID, Corrections and so much more.
Requirements:
The applicant cannot be a convicted felon, or prohibited person. You must be at least 18 years of age and be of good moral character.
12 hours a month required, after initial training period is required to remain in good standing.
Corrections:
Are you TCI certified? Or are you willing to go to the Tennessee Corrections Institute? Do you want the opportunity to advance within the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office? After becoming a Corrections Deputy the opportunities are endless.
Requirements:
The applicant cannot be a convicted felon, or a prohibited person. You must be at least 18 years of age and be of good moral character.
Shifts are 12 hours working a 3-4-4-3 schedule from 6a-6p, or 6p-6a.
Patrol:
Are you TN POST Certified? Or willing to attend the TN POST academy? The Patrol unit, which is the backbone of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is always seeking qualified applicants, even when all spots are filled. We will continue to take applications and we encourage you to apply to Auxiliary or Corrections Units if there are no open patrol positions.
Requirements:
The applicant cannot be a convicted felon, or a prohibited person. You must be at least 18 years of age and be of good moral character.
Shifts are 12 hours working a 3-4-4-3 schedule from 6a-6p, or 6p-6a.
Court Services:
Are you TN Post Certified? Or willing to go to the TN POST academy? The Court Services unit wants you to apply. This position includes all courthouse safety, from courthouse entry, bailiff during court proceedings and so much more. This position works Monday- Friday 9a-4p with occasional nights and weekends.
Requirements:
The applicant cannot be a convicted felon, or a prohibited person. You must be at least 18 years of age and be of good moral character.
School Resource Officer:
Are you TN Post Certified? Or willing to go to the TN POST academy? This Unit must be great with kids and understand how mentorship and not always
