Leadership Monroe is a program sponsored by the Monroe County Chamber of Commerce to help develop future community leaders. The program seeks qualified candidates who wish assume significant roles in leadership in our community. The Chamber program prepares those persons to lead from an informed and effective position.
The Leadership Monroe program, which takes place one day per month during a nine month period, exposes the participants to important county functions, such as city/county government, health care, the legal and justice system, education, state government, civic and service organizations, economic development and tourism.
The Monroe County Chamber of Commerce provides the Leadership Program as a vital component in its community service role. The Chamber believes “the ability of a community to devise and implement successful economic development strategies is heavily influenced by the quality of its leadership." It sees leadership development as a critical service to its membership, as well as to the community at large.
