Monroe County Sheriff’s School Resource Officers (SRO’s) are responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment in schools while building positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.

Their duties include enforcing laws on campus, preventing and responding to criminal activity, and assisting in emergency situations. SRO’s also serve as mentors and educators, providing guidance to students and conducting presentations on topics such as drug prevention, bullying, and internet safety.

By working closely with school administrators, they help develop safety plans and protocols, contributing to a positive and secure learning environment.

SRO’s play a crucial role in bridging the gap between law enforcement and the school community.
