Medina promoted to Jail Administrator by Sheriff Tommy Jones

Sheriff Tommy Jones announced the appointment of Albert Medina to Jail Administrator for Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. Medina had been serving as Captain of the Jail since 2016.

Albert Medina was in the Marine Corp with the Security Forces from 1991-1997, where he spend time overseas at the Naval Air Station in Rota, Spain. He began his career in law enforcement in 1999 at the Monroe County Sheriff's Office in the Corrections Division. After attending the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy he started working Patrol. In 2001 Medina became an SRO (School Resource Officer) at Tellico Plains High School, serving in that position until 2007, after which he transferred to Deputy over the Solid Waste Department until 2011. Albert then left to run a construction business until 2013, then returned to the Sheriff's Office as an SRO at Rural Vale School until 2014. In 2016 he was hired as the Jail Captain of the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.

Albert is married to Potosha Medina of Tellico Plains, and they have four beautiful children.
